Empowering and educating women through their menopause journey

In the first half of 2024, Tamar conducted a highly successful pilot program with 10 women. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with: an overall score of 9.4/10 for the course, all participants feeling an improvement in postural awareness, a change in neck, headache and shoulder symptoms, everyone learnt something they didn’t know before & all the women had gained confidence to do more resistance training on their own.

WHY: 

The process of menopause can be a very rough one and often a very isolating one. The hormones involved have a large impact on many systems in our bodies. The reduced production of hormones leads to many a variety of symptoms that can be very severe and open us up to a Pandora’s box of health risks. 

WHAT: 

Tamar, our senior physio, has put together a 6-week course aimed to educate, empower and target one of the many symptoms of menopause with classes to improve posture & upper limb strength. As part of the program, you will receive an education program that Tamar has constructed, a targeted resource page for further learning, and access to a custom presentation by a physician who specialises in sleep, particularly during menopause.

Class details

  • 1 x 30 minute assessment with Tamar
  • 6 x 40 minute small group classes
  • 1 x 60 minute Myotherapy treatment
  • 1 x online education session
  • Resistance bands and a towel

Classes are held at Mace Fitness on Glenhuntly Rd to give us access to space, music and equipment.
