Congratulations to Stella Justice-Allen, Rachel Kirchheimer and Sue McSolvin!

Adam has been working hard with Stella, Rachel and Sue ‘Macca’ McSolvin to prepare them for the Lacrosse World Championships in Guildford, England. While Macca unfortunately couldn’t quite get up after suffering several injuries and health set-backs, she joined the coaching team and helped oversee a terrific but heart-breaking campaign.

After suffering an early pool loss to World No. 2 Canada, the Aussies displayed some awesome lacrosse to end up easily accounting for Scotland in the quarters and a rematch with the Canadians in the semi. Rachel had the intimidating task of face-marking one of the best players in the world, Dana Dobbie, who had single-handedly dismantled Australia in the pool match. The Aussies were fierce and unrelenting, taking a 6-4 lead in the second half. Unfortunately, Canada tied the game late and went on to win in extra time to take on the US for gold.

The Aussies then faced home nation England for bronze and seemingly had the medal in their pockets leading 9-5 in the second half. A stirring comeback from the Poms incredibly tied the game and a heartbreaking golden goal in double-extra time ensured a 4th place finish for the Aussies.

The team then travelled to Wroclaw, Poland for the 2017 World Games Lacrosse Competition. After an outstanding effort, our Aussies will be bringing us home a bronze medal. Congratulations!
